Global head of Quality

Besides creating BrandLoyalty’s quality strategy, you are responsible for continuous development, improvement and implementation of effective quality processes within our global operations. Managing a team of QA and QC professionals, you lead by example and challenge the status-quo to develop and further professionalize the global team. You actively participate and initiate cross[1]departmental (global) projects to improve BrandLoyalty’s way of working to make BrandLoyalty an even more competitive, pro-active, and reliable partner for our customers and suppliers. You collaborate intensively with Product Management, Sourcing, Supply chain and Legal and raise awareness of the quality topics such as regional standards, BrandLoyalty standards, Quality requirements, factory audits (Technical, commercial and/or Social Compliance related).

As a Head of Quality, you are responsible for BrandLoyalty’s Global Quality Department, which is partly based in our office in The Netherlands and partly based in our office in Hong Kong.

Your team and responsibilities

Together with your team, you act as a subject Matter Expert for all our product/factory compliance and quality topics, quality legislation, norms and standards. You and your team support Sourcing with Vendor Risk Management by performing audits and continuously monitoring the compliance of the factory towards CSR and product requirements while standardizing and maximizing the quality and continuity of the products and services provided.

  • Create the strategy of the quality department based on the company strategy and ensure the strategy is successfully implemented and meets medium-term business needs;
  • Create the optimal team structure. Motivate, support and develop the quality team members;
  • Support the development and maintenance of standard BrandLoyalty tools and procedures;
  • Responsible for product compliance coming from our global supplier network;
  • Responsible for technical and Social Compliance of our global supplier network;
  • Responsible for BrandLoyalty’s own testing labs;
  • Responsible for the development of product, factory and production compliance; standards/policies and the availability of the relevant documentation;
  • Audit factories from a production process, social compliance and environmental point of view;
  • Create and maintain supplier handbooks, inspection manuals, audit reports and additional requirement documentation based on market and commercial requirements;
  • Coordinate third party laboratory tests according to the regional legislation and client specific requirements;
  • Define inspection requirements per program based on internal and commercial requirements, product category, supplier selected and/or storage location;
  • Initiate improvements together with Sourcing and the factories to increase quality of produced items while reducing lead times and costs;
  • Support markets on quality issues and certification requirements (review validity of product complaints from consumers, retailers or authorities, draft additional statements with Legal).



What qualities do you bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience in a leadership position;
  • Well organized, detailed minded & good problem-solving skills;
  • You are proud of who you are and what you achieve, and you project this to your team;
  • You make your decisions with a certain matter of business sense;
  • You use your common sense, you are analytically strong, and you are an expert in simplifying complex matters;
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills but able to stand his/her ground when needed;
  • Experience with international quality standards, legislation and product testing, preferably in the kitchenware/food/toys business;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
