Sourcing Manager

As a Sourcing Manager, your goal is to ensure continuous product availability for current and future loyalty programs worldwide. You are responsible for the buying of the full portfolio of Branded and Licensed products from the Brands and Vendors. You manage your own product category (Table/kitchen/housewares or Leisure related consumer goods - exact category will be decided as soon as you’re onboard) including new product development, making sure there is sufficient capacity available and buying is done at the most optimal locations, from both a cost and a logistical perspective. You manage the relationships with the factories, vendors, and brands. It is your responsibility that all products and manufacturers are compliant.

Your success will be in continuously delivering and managing your category plan. Meaning you have to know all the ins and outs of your category, create internal awareness and visibility of your category and make sure external you are aware of the new trends from a product, consumer, pricing as well production perspective. Your ability to deal with challenges – such as changing requirements and fixed deadlines – and to keep developing and delivering the products needed while keeping internal and external stakeholders informed, will make you successful in this job.

Your responsibility;

  • Ensure supplier base aligns with portfolio and sales planning (capacity, competitiveness, flexibility, lead times, reliability, quality level, development capabilities);
  • Continuously ensure vendor base is optimized and matches the current and future needs of BL (perform regular supplier evaluations).
  • Provide expert product advice and support if needed;
  • Involved in buying activities in the EMEA region on both Branded and Licensed items;
  • Price negotiations and benchmarking;
  • Developing new ranges and products in close cooperation with the portfolio team;
    • Collect initial prices and factory capacity based on product specifications;
    • Provide pricing benchmarks from different factories, production locations, specifications, and possible alternative products;
    • Ensure product quality in compliance with the country- and client-specific requirements;
  • Responsible for the full Vendor Risk management process (part of SOX);
  • Conditions of purchase (buying contract) setup and maintenance;
  • Vendor/factory profile.


Who are you?

Are you passionate and curious about specific categories/consumer products? Do you want to understand or already understand every detail in the production, pricing as well as consumer behavior process? Are you strong in building and maintaining internal and external connections? You're getting really close to the person we need, we would also like you to bring;

  • HBO/University degree;
  • 1-4 years’ experience in international trading or merchandising;
  • Familiar with the overall business process of supply chains, such as manufacture and logistics;
  • Excellent English language skills, verbal and written;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Problem-solving skills, able to anticipate;
  • Strong self-starter, hands-on and getting things done mentality;
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
